Job 11-2: Reinvent and Promote the Collaboration Center

The Collaboration Center is located downstairs at McKenzie Hall, and is a place where any UO student has free access to videoconferencing software. Staff at the Collaboration Center make it easy for students to connect via videoconference to any place that also have videoconferencing facilities. You can use the Center to visit with experts in your field, talk to professionals about jobs, or even say hi to friends and family around the world.

This project will involve a team of 5-6 students who will give input to the staff at the Collaboration Center on ways to best develop, design and promote the Center around campus. You’ll be involved in discussing how the CC should look (sort of like the ‘packaging’ of the brand’), and conducting research among students to find out current awareness of and needs for the CC. Then there will be an opportunity to promote the center.

Students with strategy, research, copy and design skills are needed. And if you have a flair for package or interior design, this would be a fun project for you to help to create the actual space where students will use the videoconferencing software. Send Prof. Sheehan an email if you’re interested in this job. This is a longer-term job which will probably last for several months.

Job 11-1: Newsletter Reinvention

The UO Health Center is looking one or two students to create a new concept and redesign the Health Center newsletter that goes out to all off campus students called “The Pond and Beyond.” The student(s) should be familiar with InDesign and be able to find interesting ways to present the copy that Health Center staff has written.Past copies of the newsletter are available, and are about 10 pages long. Contact Prof. Sheehan if you have InDesign skills and can take on this project in the next two weeks (to be completed by 11/16).

Job 10-3: Promoting Oregon Cricket Club

This team will work from 10/21 to 11/15 to develop a logo and posters to recruit members for the Oregon Cricket Club. The Cricket Club is art of UO’s club sports program and is open to anyone in the UO community. May be opportunities to promote the sport via social media like Facebook and Twitter. 2-3 students needed with strategy, writing, social media and design skills ((basic knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred).

Job 10-2: Promoting the 11/13 Career Event with Industry Professionals!

This team will work from 10/21-11/6 to develop flyers and an email announcement for career event with professionals to be held in Allen Hall on 11/13. This event will be cosponsored by the Ad Sequence and by Ad Society. Activities involve developing a creative strategy, designing and writing a flyer and email announcement, posting of flyers. 2-3 students needed with strategy, writing and design skills (basic knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred).

Job 10-1: Promoting Bernadine’s List

This team will work Fall term in developing and delivering promotional materials to the campus community with the purpose of soliciting business for Bernadine’s List. Activities involve developing a creative strategy to promote BL and a contact list of groups and media outlets to send press release and information to, writing and delivering press release, writing and design a brochure,create and produce a video talking about Bernadine’s list to be run on Vimeo and YouTube. Other ideas welcome! 608 students needed with strategy, organizational, writing, pr, video and design skills (basic knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred).
